Hi everyone! Sorry I haven't been blogging, it's not like I don't have anything to say it's that I'm afraid once I start I will write the longest blog in history because I have so much to say! I need to try to write just a little bit everyday. Ok, We had another photoshoot yesterday and the pics are loaded but you can't see them yet until I fill in all the fabric info. We shot tons of new Tulle stuff, Hype dresses, True Religion, LA Made cashmere and Dolce Vita. The pics should be up soon but you can always come to the store and check the stuff out! And now that the weather is cool, we are wearing full-on fall outfits. SO, I'm going to start up again with the www.mystylediary.net if you haven't been to our style diary page yet, check it out. We photograph what we're wearing everyday so you can see how we each mix things, since we all have our own style. Oh, our username is coveredgirl.

That's it! I'll write more tomorrow about the fashion show we're a a part of tonight at the Carlyle.

- website pics

As promised, we shot a bunch of stuff for fall and posted it on the website. This is our fourth or fifth photo shoot and it gets easier every time. It's just me styling and steaming, Ally modeling and Ingrid shooting so it goes really fast and it's super fun. I got really inspired by the clothes, they are all so wearable! This fall there are so many trends but not any real major trends so it's kind of nice to interpret them do play around with different proportions. I still LOVE the volume on top, skinny on bottom look while the new snug on top, wider leg is looking fun and fresh. Leggings and tights are still a MUST underneath cozy sweaters and sweater dresses. The grey flat Dolce Vita's I will most like be wearing everyday. We have lots more in store for you so stop in the store and check the website often.

- LA Market and stuff

So I have a few things to talk about so this post is going to be all over the board. First, we just got back from LA and picked up a few new lines and really great stuff for immediates and holiday-think dressier tops and dresses. And I'm super excited for some fedoras we picked up that are really great and nicely priced, sounds weird but when you try them on you will love them! Julie Brown looked AMAZING but you'll have to wait for early spring for that. And of course Serfontaine blew us away(as always). Speaking of, I have a MAJOR obsession with the new Serfontaines that came in. The Avatar in that super clean dark wash. If you love a clean, dark wash, a super soft fabric and a lean leg these babys are for you. What else-oooo the new Bobi is awesome and will last approximately one week so come get it! It's supposed to be cooler this weekend-perfect to do some fall shopping! One last thing, we are having a photoshoot on Friday, shooting just about everything in the store. The pix will be posted by later that night or Monday the latest so check the website often! FINALLY!! I promise promise I will shoot more often this fall!

- Fall at Covered

There have been loads of deliveries the past few days of Tulle and Topin and so the store is packed with sweaters, jackets, long sleeves and jeans. It's so exciting and we LOVE everything we've gotten in but it's still depressing that it's here already, why does the summer have to go so fast?! Argghhh. Anyway, all the new Hudson's rock the house and I really wish I was tall because we got a supermodel length in that is TDF. Come down and hang out with us and see what's new!

- Denim options

What I love about this coming fall is that there is no ONE denim trend. Yes, the wide leg is the newest look and it will be a big trend but it's not the only trend. The straight and skinny still continues and how nice is it in our Minnesota weather to easily tucky your skinnys into your boots versus struggling with all that fabric. Plus, flats are still hot and look great with straighter legs. We just got a Taverniti style that is super fitted but has a pretty big flare which is kind of fun. As for bootcuts, they are and always will be the classic denim cut. Speaking of denim, check out the August issue of MN Monthly, Elizabeth wrote a great article on denim and where to buy in Minneapolis(at Covered of course!) Oh and I found a website that I LOVE, it's denimology.com. They show photos of celebs wearing the latest denim. William Rast is having it's day that's for sure! And so is J Brand and I'm not understanding why. We used to carry a ton of J Brand but it never looked as good on people as other brands. I had to cut it loose because I only have so much room but jeez it's everywhere and it's still not flattering! Unless of course your itty bitty and if you are, you look good in everything. Hitting all the boutiques in Hudson and Stillwater today with my girlfriends so should be fun, it's not very often at all I take time to shop other boutiques or actually shop in general, I'm very excited! Which reminds me I should consult with Alishops.com to make sure I don't miss any. Go to Covered today and check out the new stuff and the sale!

- summer clothes blahs

I know I should not bitch about the summer in any way shape or form but I just have to talk about how bored I am with my summer wardrobe. I'm over it. I started looking through our fall orders though and trying to remember what we ordered(hey it was March!) we always say we're going to take pictures of what we order but we NEVER do. Anyway, I'm starting to get really excited about fall! I can't tell you exactly but it's gonna be awesome! AND it's all going to sell super fast and Jody and I never order enough which is something we are trying really hard to work on. And my point is......Ok I don't have one but we did get XM radio in the store and it's life-changing(Thanks Scotty)

- Thursday night out

Last night Scott(hubby) and I went to the Picasso party at the Walker that Metro Magazine threw. This was our first Metro mag party and we had a blast. We were running super late so we missed the pre party at Groveland and the Picasso exhibit which we will FOR SURE go back and see. We ran into Catherine who owns Bumbershute and of course she was wearing the most gorgeous dress EVER! I so wish I could pull off a long flowy dress, her and Nichole from Metro were wearing long dresses and they both looked truly amazing. Anyway, we met a bunch of really great people and had a fab time. As I mentioned in my last blog, we have been spending so much time at the cabin it's nice to enjoy the city, especially in the summer, I LOVE it! Yesterday we got in Bobi and the fabrics are the softest I have ever felt. The price point is SICK and I their racerback tank is the most perfect cut of a racerback I have ever tried on. I don't know why but I'm OBSESSED with racerback tanks. I think sometimes the sexiest summer outfit is a rb tank, layered silver or gold necklaces and a HOT pair of jeans. It's simple, kind of rockergirl, and not trying too hard.  All you need is a great racerback bra and your set which by the way, I have the Calvin Klein rb bra and I love love love it. Happy Friday the 13th!

- summer vacation

Even though I'm pretty sure no one reads my blog I'm going to keep writing it anyway, it's kind of fun. I will try to write in it more often, it's been tough since we've been at the cabin every weekend and a week over the fourth. It was so much fun but I'm ready to focus on the store now. For starters, Jody and I booked our trip today for LA! Market is August 10-12 so between now and then give us your suggestions on lines you would like to see in Covered. We have a huge list of lines we want to check out but would LOVE to hear what you think. This time of year is tough fashion-wise. You are sick of your summer clothes but don't want to buy too many things full-price that you can't wear past August. Check out our summer sale, most things are so inexpensive that you can justify it! Oh and since I dropped the ball on shooting a lot of our late spring/summer merchandise, there is more in the store than whats on the website. I PROMISE to shoot fall clothes more often and post them on the site. One more thing-we got in two new styles of William Rast and they are both super cute and won't last long so come check them out!

- Dinkytown in the Summer

Now is a perfect time to come to Covered. Dinkytown is slower in the summer for obvious reasons so parking rocks, you can literally pull up and get a spot right in front of the store. Perfect night or saturday afternoon would consist of you and your best friend getting pedi's at The Refinery or HCX, shopping at Covered and lunch outside at Loring Pasta Bar or Kafe 421. So European! Ok, if you don't have time for that, at least come shopping, we have fun, easy, inexpensive summer tops and dresses from LA Made, Saint Grace, Topin and Super Lucky Cat.
