As promised, we shot a bunch of stuff for fall and posted it on the website. This is our fourth or fifth photo shoot and it gets easier every time. It's just me styling and steaming, Ally modeling and Ingrid shooting so it goes really fast and it's super fun. I got really inspired by the clothes, they are all so wearable! This fall there are so many trends but not any real major trends so it's kind of nice to interpret them do play around with different proportions. I still LOVE the volume on top, skinny on bottom look while the new snug on top, wider leg is looking fun and fresh. Leggings and tights are still a MUST underneath cozy sweaters and sweater dresses. The grey flat Dolce Vita's I will most like be wearing everyday. We have lots more in store for you so stop in the store and check the website often.
I know I should not bitch about the summer in any way shape or form but I just have to talk about how bored I am with my summer wardrobe. I'm over it. I started looking through our fall orders though and trying to remember what we ordered(hey it was March!) we always say we're going to take pictures of what we order but we NEVER do. Anyway, I'm starting to get really excited about fall! I can't tell you exactly but it's gonna be awesome! AND it's all going to sell super fast and Jody and I never order enough which is something we are trying really hard to work on. And my point is......Ok I don't have one but we did get XM radio in the store and it's life-changing(Thanks Scotty)
Last night Scott(hubby) and I went to the Picasso party at the Walker that Metro Magazine threw. This was our first Metro mag party and we had a blast. We were running super late so we missed the pre party at Groveland and the Picasso exhibit which we will FOR SURE go back and see. We ran into Catherine who owns Bumbershute and of course she was wearing the most gorgeous dress EVER! I so wish I could pull off a long flowy dress, her and Nichole from Metro were wearing long dresses and they both looked truly amazing. Anyway, we met a bunch of really great people and had a fab time. As I mentioned in my last blog, we have been spending so much time at the cabin it's nice to enjoy the city, especially in the summer, I LOVE it! Yesterday we got in Bobi and the fabrics are the softest I have ever felt. The price point is SICK and I their racerback tank is the most perfect cut of a racerback I have ever tried on. I don't know why but I'm OBSESSED with racerback tanks. I think sometimes the sexiest summer outfit is a rb tank, layered silver or gold necklaces and a HOT pair of jeans. It's simple, kind of rockergirl, and not trying too hard. All you need is a great racerback bra and your set which by the way, I have the Calvin Klein rb bra and I love love love it. Happy Friday the 13th!
Even though I'm pretty sure no one reads my blog I'm going to keep writing it anyway, it's kind of fun. I will try to write in it more often, it's been tough since we've been at the cabin every weekend and a week over the fourth. It was so much fun but I'm ready to focus on the store now. For starters, Jody and I booked our trip today for LA! Market is August 10-12 so between now and then give us your suggestions on lines you would like to see in Covered. We have a huge list of lines we want to check out but would LOVE to hear what you think. This time of year is tough fashion-wise. You are sick of your summer clothes but don't want to buy too many things full-price that you can't wear past August. Check out our summer sale, most things are so inexpensive that you can justify it! Oh and since I dropped the ball on shooting a lot of our late spring/summer merchandise, there is more in the store than whats on the website. I PROMISE to shoot fall clothes more often and post them on the site. One more thing-we got in two new styles of William Rast and they are both super cute and won't last long so come check them out!
Now is a perfect time to come to Covered. Dinkytown is slower in the summer for obvious reasons so parking rocks, you can literally pull up and get a spot right in front of the store. Perfect night or saturday afternoon would consist of you and your best friend getting pedi's at The Refinery or HCX, shopping at Covered and lunch outside at Loring Pasta Bar or Kafe 421. So European! Ok, if you don't have time for that, at least come shopping, we have fun, easy, inexpensive summer tops and dresses from LA Made, Saint Grace, Topin and Super Lucky Cat.
